First reading

The play Hedda Gabler seems to be an interesting play so far. The most interesting character so far is Hedda, she has multiple personalities, she seems rude, cunning, and manipulative. She seems too mean for her husband tessman and he doesn't have a lot of control with her. Hedda seems to "wear the pants " in their relationship. The relationship they have is odd, every time Tessman give her a complement she rejects it negativly. I don't know how their relationship would last? Hedda wants so many things, Tessman doesn't have the money for it; and their personalities do not complement each other, Hedda is rude and manipulative, Tessamn is kind and abit passive.
At the end of Act 1 Hedda's going to play with her pistols which seemed like she is the past woman in Lovburg's life. I'm anxious to see if she really is the woman that is from Lovburg's past.
(What does she do with the pistols? Why does she think she needs them?)

The whole pistol issue kinda thre me off because it was so unexpected. But with a woman so in control like Hedda you have to expect her to have someway of securing her power. I guess her guns would be the same as Bernarda's cane

i really think that Hedda was Lovborgs lover in previous time..everything matched up with wut ms elvsted described...and hedda was quick to change the subjects.. and i think that the pistols represent power in way sort of like Bernarda's cane...

yeah yeah yeah, the pistols are the cane. But notice Hedda doesn't go around shooting people and Bernarda hits pretty much everyone with her cane. Hedda's not as openly evil as Bernarda.

yea I agree, instead of the cane, now we have a pistol symbolizing power, the one question that I have for Hedda and Tesman is that why is she still with him, he' like, uhh, hmmm, yea, sure, whatever you say Hedda, lol, who can live with someone like that.
